Who receives messages

I'm Here sends SMS missed check-in notifications only to Safety Circle members — the trusted contacts a user invites. Every recipient opts in for themselves; a user cannot opt in on someone else's behalf.

How consent is collected (implemented flow)

A user adds a trusted contact, and the app emails that contact a personal invite link.
The contact opens the invite link and accepts the invite in their own browser. Until the invite is accepted, no notifications are sent to them.
On the invite screen the contact may enter their own mobile number and tick an unchecked consent checkbox containing the exact text below. The checkbox is never pre-selected, and the "Send verification code" button stays disabled until it is ticked.
The contact receives a one-time 6-digit verification code by SMS and enters it to confirm they control the number.
Only after acceptance, consent, and successful verification — and while the contact has not opted out — can the system send missed check-in texts to that number. These conditions are enforced on the server at send time.

“I agree to receive SMS missed check-in notifications from I'm Here when someone in my Safety Circle misses a scheduled check-in, along with requested verification codes and test messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase. I understand I'm Here is not an emergency service.”

This page reproduces the wording for reference only. It is not a consent form and ticking nothing here opts anyone in. Real consent is recorded only on the opt-in form inside the app, by the recipient, while signed in to their own account.

Where the real opt-in form lives

The live opt-in form appears in two places, both requiring the recipient to be signed in as themselves:

on the invitation page, immediately after they accept the invitation;
any time afterwards in Settings under “Optional text alerts”.

Text alerts are not switched on yet, so no verification codes or alerts can be sent at this time.

A member can also opt out at any time from the SMS section of their invite or member screen.
